An original theatre programme for Divas at the Donmar, the celebrated cabaret evening starring Patti LuPone at the Donmar Warehouse Theatre, Earlham Street, London WC2. Season generously sponsored by Autograph Sound Recording; additionally sponsored by One Aldwych, London.

This listing includes the original programme together with a matching pair of original Ticketmaster ticket stubs from the performance: Friday Evening, 13th August 1999, 20:00, Circle Row A, Seats 18 and 19, priced at £30.00 each. Both stubs are intact and in good condition. An exceptionally rare survivor — finding a programme with its original tickets from the night is uncommon, and for a Patti LuPone performance at the Donmar, rarer still.

The programme features a striking minimalist cover design in black and red with a stylised diva silhouette. Inside, a superb "In Conversation: Patti LuPone" feature interview traces her extraordinary career: creating the role of Fantine in the original RSC production of Les Misérables at the Barbican; originating Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard at the Adelphi (and its earlier invitation-only incarnation at the Sydmonton Festival); her work in Marc Blitzstein's The Cradle Will Rock at the Old Vic and Terrence McNally's Master Class at the Queen's. LuPone discusses how London shaped her career from her very first paid job at the Young Vic in 1970, and her approach to delivering contemporary songs — by Joni Mitchell, John Buchino, Randy Newman, and British pair Dillie Keane and Adele Anderson — as theatrical dramatic stories. The live recording of this show was released to coincide with the Donmar run.
