Mutiny on the Bounty (1962) Original Film Brochure

An original cinema brochure issued for the roadshow release of Mutiny on the Bounty (1962), Lewis Milestone's sweeping MGM Technicolor epic starring Marlon Brando as Fletcher Christian and Trevor Howard as Captain Bligh, with Richard Harris, Hugh Griffith, Tarita, Percy Herbert, and Gordon Jackson. Produced by Aaron Rosenberg. Filmed on location in Tahiti, Bora Bora, England, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, California, and Nova Scotia. A Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer production.

Published as a Random House Book, this is one of the finest roadshow brochures of the era. The cover features a magnificent commissioned oil painting of HMS Bounty under full sail, the ship's name visible on her stern, beneath a bold red banner in elegant script lettering. The back cover presents a breathtaking atmospheric production photograph of the Bounty silhouetted at anchor in a Tahitian sunset, with a native figure wading ashore. The interior features a superb full-bleed spread of the Matavai Bay arrival sequence — over 5,000 Tahitian extras assembled for the scene — alongside the iconic double-page portrait spread of Brando as Fletcher Christian and Trevor Howard as Captain Bligh, with individual biographical notes. A feature article, "A Global Project", details the extraordinary international production.
